Awarded an ‘Arts Council Ireland Project Award’ to write a new one-man play taking inspiration from 'Lord of the Flies' — under the mentorship of Michael West, 2023. Katie took writing residency in the Tyrone Guthrie Centre and 'A Little Room', Waterford's Theatre Development Centre — working with Laura Honan (Dramaturge), Rachel Ní Bhraonáin (Movement Director), Dr. Mark Rowe (Consultant) and Colin Campbell (Actor).

Katie's aim as a maker is to bridge the gap between spectator and performer by considering an audiences sensory systems, alongside dramaturgical focus on sound — creating a sensorial pull between memory, imagination and reality in the mind of a monster.
